I know everyone has been super tired of Madi and her Pony and was anxiously awaiting an update. The problem was not that I had nothing to update, rather lots of news and no time. We have been super busy and going non-stop but finally today now that things are getting back to normal I thought it would be a great time to update and let the rest of the world in on all the fun we have been having! Congratulations Kelsey, you did it and we are proud of you!

New squeaky toy?
Orphan kitty...
Well I was driving home early as my class was cancelled and I happened to notice out of the corner of my eye, a tiny little furry ball just on the other side of the white line along Smith Rd. I was able to pull over, back up, get out and walk towards it in the lane of traffic. Luckily the little thing walked right up to me, so what else could I do? There was only one house remotely close, but no one was home. I suspect it was maybe dumped because it is so friendly there is no way it can be feral. After a quick trip to the IGA store we fed him(he was starving!) clipped his nails and are fairly certain it is a boy. It's sometimes hard to tell at this age so we will know for certain eventually. I didnt find any fleas on him either, which also indicates he was probobly not living outside, plus he seems to be in good health. I told Mom I would hold him for her till she and Grandpa come, as you know, they have a soft spot for orphans!

Look Who's 6 Months!
Wow! How time flies..hard to believe Madi is already 6 months old. It's sure amazing how much they grow and change in a relatively short time. Today Lindsay stopped by after Madi's doctors appt and I snapped a couple of photos. Lindsay thought it was just because of my obsession with Madi but really it was for a Mother's Day surprise for her! (luckily she never reads my blog!)

fun With Madi...
We are trying again! Lindsay had a girls night out, and tomorrow she is working for her old boss, so she asked if we could watch Madi. She thought it would be a lot easier if Madi just spent the night rather than making two trips out here, I suspect she will show up here in the wee hours of the morning again. She really wants to be brave but she just misses her too much. We have had a blast with her, and she is sitting up really well on her own now. She is also eating stage 1 baby food which she likes a lot! go figure! she is such a good little baby, we are sooo lucky we get to steal her away from time to time. I wish she would smile at the camera the way she smiles when you talk to her..little monkey!

Prom 2008
Much to Kelsey's delight she was able to pull off going to her senior prom. It was a relatively short night for her since she still gets tired easily. But she and Asa looked great together and they had a great time. On a side note we woke up to the ground covered with snow this morning! How Rude!! It's time for spring not winter again...

Baby Sitting Adventures...
Well, two babies are a handful-especially when one can run AND she thinks it's funny to do so! hailey and I watched Madi and Mahayla for Lindsay and her friend Nicki on Saturday. We had to go to the mall to get a birthday gift for one of Hailey's friends so we took the girls, we figured how hard could it be? Well it was hard and exhausting, we left as soon as we could! The girls were actually very good, there is just a lof of "stuff" to pack around and keep track of. While we were at the mall we paid a visit to Build a Bear and got the girls Friendship bears, very cute-one pink and one yellow. We also thought it would be really cute to take a picture of the girls with their bears, sounds simple enough. Well it wasn't...but we tried. We were finally rescued about 4:30 by their moms who had a wonderful relaxing time and were happy to see their little angels!

Puppy Update!
As you can see the puppies are growing and very active. We have mixed the two litters together so they can have more room and they aren't in the house anymore (thats the convenient part) The inconvenient part is keeping them straight. They aren't fully weaned yet so one of us (usually me) takes out Holly and Suzy together and let them nurse the puppies. It's a bit of a frenzy at first while everyone is looking for a spot at the bar, but then they settle down and get busy. The very second they are done the girls are OUT of there and the whole thing is over until the next time. They are nursed about 4 to 5 times a day right now. But we are in the process of weaning, since there is only one week difference between the two litters we figure we can make it work out ok for them all. However, they are on different worming schedules because of their age, so to make that work we have painted the back toe nails a bright purple color on all of Holly's puppies. So far it seems to be working, I am realy looking forward to the weather getting better so we can let them out into their grass area, which I think they will really enjoy! Joey is getting fixed next week and Ford will be going in the first of May. Kady's litter is due on May 4th and that should be it, unless we actively seek a male to breed one of the girls-this will pretty much wrap up the breeding business for us.

Kelsey's Birthday Tattoo
We didn't believe she would actually go through with the whole thing, for a first tattoo it's a pretty sensitive spot and it took about 4 hours-which is fairly long for a first tattoo. There is some more shading left to do in the tree itself and in the roots but all in all it looks pretty cool, and she loves it! (even Lindsay liked it despite herself!) The Circus Freak Disease lives on!
