As you can see the puppies are growing and very active. We have mixed the two litters together so they can have more room and they aren't in the house anymore (thats the convenient part) The inconvenient part is keeping them straight. They aren't fully weaned yet so one of us (usually me) takes out Holly and Suzy together and let them nurse the puppies. It's a bit of a frenzy at first while everyone is looking for a spot at the bar, but then they settle down and get busy. The very second they are done the girls are OUT of there and the whole thing is over until the next time. They are nursed about 4 to 5 times a day right now. But we are in the process of weaning, since there is only one week difference between the two litters we figure we can make it work out ok for them all. However, they are on different worming schedules because of their age, so to make that work we have painted the back toe nails a bright purple color on all of Holly's puppies. So far it seems to be working, I am realy looking forward to the weather getting better so we can let them out into their grass area, which I think they will really enjoy! Joey is getting fixed next week and Ford will be going in the first of May. Kady's litter is due on May 4th and that should be it, unless we actively seek a male to breed one of the girls-this will pretty much wrap up the breeding business for us.
